We stayed here for 3 nights during the Christmas holidays in December
2011. We booked a deluxe room primarily based in part on reviews of the
hotel and the price. We paid about $150 per night plus $20 per night for
self-parking. We've stayed at the Chateau Fairmont Whistler and the Four
Seasons on previous trips to Whistler but because it was during high
season, the prices were too high for the other resorts. Keep the
following in mind if you are thinking about booking at the Summit Lodge:
1. The hotel is pet friendly. This means that you will inevitably smell
pet odour in the hotel rooms. The Chateau Fairmont also allows pets but
the smell never really bothered us but here, at the Summit Lodge, I was
able to smell dogs and dog food albeit not overly strong.
2. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are not skiing on the
Blackcomb side. There is a supermarket directly across the street, along
with a Starbucks and a few other restaurants and eateries. There is also
a yoga place down the street but I did not try it.
3. We had difficulty logging onto the free wifi in our room. In the end,
we had to ask the front desk to waive any local call charges because we
could not access the internet from our room. They agreed to waive the
charges.
4. The shuttle bus to the Chateau Fairmon stops infront of the Summit
Lodge. This is super convenient if you have friends or family staying at
the Chateau Fairmont (we did) or if you are looking to get over to
Blackcomb to ski. The Summit Lodge does offer shuttle services to
Blackcomb but these run by a strict schedule so we only used the Chateau
Fairmont. The Chateau Fairmont runs until 10:15 pm.
5. The walls are very thin. If you like to sleep in, you might want to
request a corner room for more privacy and less noise. We woke up daily
to early risers heading out to ski in the wee hours of the morning (or
at least earlier than we wanted to be awake).
Our biggest complain about the Summit Lodge is that it was not as clean
as we expected. As mentioned earlier, I could smell pet odour in our
hotel room. In addition, we had a few sticky spots near the kitchenette
when we first checked in and the entire floor was not all that clean. We
asked the front desk for slippers to wear in the room and we were told
that they do not have any. The bathroom had a urine odour that did not
disappear during our stay.
Overall, this hotel is a solid 3 star. If the hotel improves its
cleanliness (i.e. mopping the floor), then it would get a slightly
higher rating from me but we won't be returning again.

We stayed at the Summit January 1st to 7th, 2012. We are a family of 4
with two grown boys 19 and 15. The room we were given on check in, even
though a one bedroom, was very small for all of us with hardly any
closet space. We complained to reception and they assured us they would
find us a larger unit the next day as they had nothing bigger available
on the 1st of January. To their credit they moved us to one of their
largest units across the hall the very next day. Thank you to Andrea at
reception and to house keeping.
They also offered us a break on the parking because we were staying with
them for a week.

We also loved the location of the hotel, very close to the IGA, as well
as the Olympic skating rink, Elements tapas bar and the Creperie
Montagne across the street. Free wi-fi was also a bonus as well as free
shuttle to the lifts. The spa is also very good, try the Balinese
massage.
We are very happy with our choice, we found the service very good,
everyone was trying to please and to help. The rooms themselves are not
luxurious or high end boutique but they are clean and comfortable. The
fridge is a good size, but the kitchenettes themselves are not very well
equipped. No cereal bowls, though they brought us some when we asked, no
larger pots for making soups or boiling pasta.
All in all we can recommend the Summit for its service, location and
comfort. If you have pet allergies let them know and they will place you
in a section of the hotel away from the pets.
We never found the pets to be a problem.

We've had the opportunity to stay at the Summit Lodge on numerous
occasions and have never had a bad experience.
It is in a great location and just far enough away from some of the
nightlife to not be bothered with noise.
First class operation.

We booked the Summit Lodge It told us that the hotel had a 4 star rating
when we found it online. We were surprised at how reasonable the cost
was for a 4 star hotel so we took a risk not knowing what hotel it was
and booked.
We arrived in Whistler around 5pm on Friday (check-in time is 4pm). When
we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly and helpful front desk
staff. Upon entering our room, we found that it had not yet been cleaned
from the last guests. So back down we went and spoke with the concierge
who immediately upgraded us to a junior suite because of our
inconvenience. Upon entering our new room, we found that it also had not
been cleaned from the last guests. So back down to the concierge we
went. The general manager who was there at the time and the front desk
staff were very apologetic and helpful. They immediately upgraded us to
a one bedroom king executive suite on the top floor. In addition, they
gave us our $19/night parking for free and sent a complimentary bottle
of sparkling wine to our room. We entered our room and were relieved to
find that it was clean.

The room had a fully equipped kitchenette, very comfortable king size
bed, two balconies (one off the bedroom and one off the living room),
fireplace and a fair size bathroom (big enough for two people to get
ready in). One television in the bedroom and one television in the
living room. The view was nice with an unobstructed view of the
mountains. The room was a little outdated, not the most modern but was
still very comfortable.
Our only complaint about the room was that it took quite a while to warm
up and the fireplace wasn't working. When we told the front desk, they
officered to move us to a new room to which we declined. Instead they
gave us free breakfast vouchers to Elements restaurant (which is one of
our favorite breakfast places in Whistler).
The hotel was in a convenient location, no more than 5-10 minutes
walking distance from the Village centre, restaurants, shopping,
groceries. If you have pets, this is a pet friendly hotel.
The best part of our visit to the Summit Lodge was the service we
received from staff!! They went above and beyond to make sure that our
stay was comfortable. The day we were checking out, we planned to do
some shopping in the village before heading out to the Scandinavia Spa
to spend our afternoon/evening. The hotel allowed us to keep our car
parked in their lot until 4pm for our convenience.
All in all, a decent hotel in a convenient location at a reasonable
price for Whistler. The staff was wonderful, friendly and went above and
beyond to help us in any way possible. If we were to stay at the Summit
Lodge again, it would be because of the service we received, not because
of the hotel itself.

We have stayed here for years and will continue to. It may not be the
most posh or have the fanciest lobby, but the experience and service
make up for it. They are also extremely pet friendly and don't make you
feel like an inconvenience because you have a pet. It is also just far
enough from the main part of the village, so you don't have to worry
about late night noise. You won't be disappointed.
Room Tip: Choose the rooms out front and have a decent view.

Booked the Summit Lodge through a local special and am very glad we did.
The trip was a romantic get-away for my fiancée and I and a chance to
just relax and unwind. The room was a king executive suite with a very
comfy king size bed, a kitchenette, TV, fireplace and two small
balconies. The bathroom was large with a full size bathtub and the room
had plenty of storage. Location is very central and close to everything
in Whistler village. We booked a couples massage at the spa and that was
a wonderful treat that I highly recommend you indulge in yourself! All
in all a great place in a wonderful location and I would go back again
in a heartbeat

My daughter and I stayed here Sept 19th - Sunday night. As it was low
season I was able to walk in and secure a room at 8pm no problem. The
hotel was below 40% occupancy, I forget the exact number but it was
quiet. Front desk was efficient and friendly. I managed to get a room
for around $90 so after tax and parking it was $132 for the two of us.
The parking is about $20 which I think is really steep but a standard
charge for the area. There is a huge parking lot "Parking Lot #4" that
is a 2 minute walk from the Summit Lodge and we would have used it but
my truck box was loaded with furniture and belongings so we needed the
underground secured parking. The underground parking stalls are small -
I took a picture once I found a stall because I read some previous
reviews discussing the parking stalls..... they are uber small.....I did
try to park in a stall for two cars but some personnel in the parking
garage that was moving some laundry around told me to move the truck to
another spot (the "small Car" slot!) which I did and backed in as far as
possible? Aside from the parking oddity everything else was exceptional
for its class and cost of accommodation.
Got one of their basic rooms which is well laid out and comfortable.
with the king bed and comfortable hide a bed. No complaints from my
adult daughter on the sofa bed.
Could only manage a room on the 2nd floor as the top floor rooms were
sold out. No big deal though, never heard anyone above us.
The kitchen is compact and well laid out.
Bathroom is large enough, good lighting and nice soaker tub.
There is a large warbrobe in the room which was great for hiding our
luggage from sight (and the tempting mini bar basket)
There is a convenience store within 300 feet if you need to pick up some
items for your kitchenette.
I posted some pics for better detail.
All in all it was a very comfortable night.
