We booked last minute through Whistler lodging. They found us our standard hotel
room at a good discount as it was an unsold room and non-holiday mid-week. It
was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The breakfast was hearty. Only wish the
hot tub was outside to enjoy the view. I'll stay there again.

Listel Hotel - Whistler
2night stay Jan 2011. $160 - $170/night for Deluxe 2 Queen room.
Pros
- Great Location in Whistler Village, 2-3min walk to Whistler Ski lifts. Just
behind Crystal Lodge from the main walkway about 20meters.
- Complementary wifi.
- Large room heating/cooling systems available.
- Complementary continental breakfast provided (decent choice and variety). Can
get a little busy at times.
- Front desk was helpful providing access to changing rooms and holding luggage
for us when we arrived early in the morning prior to check in.
Cons
- 2nd night (Friday) was a little noisy. Lots of younger guest 18-25 arrived for
the weekend.
Overall very good value hotel in Whistler Village close to the ski lifts. Other
hotels eg Hilton and Pan Pacific were going for around $350+/night when I booked
4-5months in advance.

Great location, close to shops, restaurants and just 5 minutes to ski lifts so
extra time in bed! Poor selection at breakfast. Supplies ran out early and not
replenished. Small seating area in lobby and fire not always turned on. Wifi
very slow. No thermostatic shower valve or extractor fan in bathroom. Good
cleaning service with fresh towels daily. Good value and friendly staff.
Avoid Fridays & Saturdays as hotel opposite has outdoor hot tub and partying
continued 'til 2am!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms facing front as noise from hot tub in hotel opposite
(weekends). Have breakfast early to get wider choice. Use hotel parking.

Very adequate and comfortable rooms and excellent front office assistance by Zak
Lester the Assistant Front Office Manager. Zak made us feel at home and took
care of our questions and needs to make our stay effortless and pleasant. For
the price and location it is a great deal and excellent holiday destination.

The location is awesome, just steps to everything. The hotel itself is very
average. The linens did not seem as clean as they could be. The continental
breakfast was adequate but there was nothing warm. The muffins were good. The
halls were noisy with college students late into the night. Make sure to request
your skis/board before you go eat breakfast as the wait can sometimes be up to
20 minutes.

The hotel service and rooms are good. Remember you have to pay parking
charges/day.
Also I almost ran into the closing shutters of the parking garage. One would
expect it to be pressure sensitive but it is not. You have to call in to the
concierge to get it opened.
The good part is they store your skiing\snow boarding equipment for free :)
Rest everything is ok.

Our room at the Listel was very clean and comfortable, though a bit too hot and
dry as air-conditioned hotel rooms so often are. The beds were very comfy, but
the hot water for our baths after coming back from snowboarding was only warm,
not hot. The parking is very cramped so you don't get to leave your car in there
after check-out as you can with some other Whistler hotels. The staff were very
friendly and helpful, and the free continental breakfast was great although the
coffee wasn't great.
It seems like it's a bit of a partiers' hotel - there were lots of young men
yelling in our corridor in the night, and in the morning the corridor smelled of
beer and cigarettes, but we slept pretty well and there was very little noise
from outside.

Excellent location, just round the back of the village stroll. Jacuzzi and pool
available free of charge, breakfast was included and was good! Cereal, bagels,
toast, fruit, yoghurt etc and plenty of it. Staff very relaxed, friendly and
helpful on each occasion. Rooms were big and clean. We got a room on the top
floor and was very quiet. Parking was $18 a night pretty standard for whistler.
Might be an issue in high season getting a space as the car park seems a bit
small for the size of the hotel but we had no problems in October. Would
definitely return to this hotel. |
