I stayed here for one night on a brief trip from Vancouver. I arrived
late in the evening and was warmly greeted by an helpful Australian
fellow at the front desk - that was a nice start. After I checked into
my room I went out to get a bite to eat and found myself in the centre
of Whistler village - very convenient. The hotel is only about a 3
minute walk to the lifts. Unlike the previous reviewer I had no issues
with the staff and found them to be courteous and helpful. I would stay
here again.

As a frequent traveller to Whistler (from Seattle) decided to book at
this "boutique hotel in the heart of Whistler" - wow, is all I can stay.
I would recommend this hotel if you like to have a dirty room, no towels
(we were told they were out of towels) and a room in bad need of a
renovation.
In speaking with the front desk on why there were no towels, and why our
bedding was dirty, they indicated that a new property manager was in
place, and that the hotel was "cutting back" from orders of management,
and that the sub-par bedding and lack of towels was pretty much how it
was. Needless to say, I will NOT be staying here again.

Problems right from check-in. Promised king, got queen, changed, but
same problem. No maid service first day - excuse was "no towels were
left". Putting a fake Panton chair doesn't make the hotel 4*. Lots of
great hotels in Whistler, but this isn't one of them. Needs a real reno.

We stayed here for our second time in mid November 2011, just before the
mountain opened. We love the funky style of this hotel and the location
is great if you want to be right in the village. Only down side is that
depending on which day of the week you stay nights can be loud, there is
a few bars just steps away from the hotel. The rooms are equipt with a
french press, kettle and fridge which is nice!

We recently spend a night in Whistler and decided to stay at the Adara
as it was literally 50 feet to the Casino Royale Cornucopia event.
The room was clean and had a very chic rustic look to it, think moose
pillows and faux wood decor, but done very classy!
We were greeted very warmly by Tim, he was very professional and
friendly! We were a little worried that we were so close to Buffalo
Bills night club, but it really did not bother us at all. If you are a
really light sleeper there is a noise machine at the bed side you can
try... not my kinda thing, but if helps others that is a great thing to
provide.
I loved the Bodum coffee press and JJ Bean coffee, I know is a funny
thing to appreciate but when you are coffee drinker good coffee in the
morning is a wonderful thing!
The view from our roof top patio into the village was great as it was
snowing in the morning and everything looked so beautiful. We took the
morning to walk around the village and enjoy the sights with the fresh
snow. The Adara is literally in the village so we didn't have to drive
and find parking and all that.
Take the complaints with a grain of salt, we had a wonderful stay and
will absolutely stay there again!
Room Tip: We were on the third floor so we had a roof top balcony, that
was neat.

The Adara Hotel is ideally located in a quiet area of Whistler Village
but still close to restaurants, bars, shopping and 3 minute walk from
the base of the Mountain, you really can’t ask for more. The hotel
itself is comfortable, clean and has a funky feel to it (funky in a good
way). The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the beds were extremely
comfortable, the in-room coffee was excellent, the staff were very
polite and efficient, and there was plenty of parking. I would
definitely stay at the Adara the next time I am in Whistler.

This hotel is the perfect Whistler location. We stayed in the two
bedroom suite and it was great. It had everything we needed and was
nicely equipped. Would have been good if there was a secong bathroom as
there were 6 people staying there. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We just stayed at the Adara and had a great time. It's a small hotel in
the heart of the village. We were there for my sister's bachelorette
party so we had a few rooms and got a great rate.
Fun friendly staff
In the heart of the village
The most comfortable beds
Very close to Buffalo Bills nightclub (where most people hold stags/stagettes)
Great lobby
Dog friendly

Hot tub was very small (3 to 4 people max)
Had to wait an hour past check in for our room to be ready
Close to buffalo bills nightclub so depending on your room it can get
noisy
rooms were a little dark so made it difficult for group of girls to get
ready
Motion sensor tap in the bathroom got a little annoying when trying to
brush teeth

I found my stay to be quite enjoyable. I thought the staff was very
professional and helpful, even thought I demanded many things on them
during my stay. I thought the rooms were in great condition and well
kept. I wouldn't consider any other place to stay in whistler.

I stayed here in april 2011 with my wife 4 year old daughter and 7 month
old son. The hotel was great clean rooms very friendly and accommodating
staff. I don't understand why there are so many complainers here. I
think most people believe they are the only guests in the hotel and
think the staff is here to serve their purpose soon as they ask. If you
ask for towels don't expect them as soon as you hang up the phone have
common sense and give them time to do there job. I bothered the girl at
the front desk about 4 times in the span of an hour to get my car keys
and she was friendly EVERY time. Thanks Adara staff and management, we
appreciated everything and will stay again for sure

Three of us stayed at this hotel for, thankfully, just one night. We had
several issues (two hours until room was ready, no short-term parking
out front when checking in, long line-ups when trying to check in,
noise, worn-out furnishings, useless air conditioning--exactly as
another reviewer states: it cooled off the stairs and that's about it)
but the number one problem was the disturbingly UNCLEAN suite. This
tainted our stay from the moment we arrived and we just felt icky being
there. We did call the maids back in more than once but I actually went
around with disinfectant wipes as there is no way any real cleaning had
been going on for some time, and I'm talking ground-in grime as well as
dust and hairs and stains and sticky spots and all manner of YUCK
everywhere. I could not bring myself to use the shower, we did not TOUCH
the duvets or throw cushions, and we went to Starbucks for coffee rather
than using the (dirty) provisions. I could go on and on, but really, all
I need to say is: don't stay here. There are plenty of better hotels to
choose from at Whistler. Sure, the location is great, and we found the
staff to be friendly and understanding, but the place is obviously
neglected and understaffed--or poorly staffed--in the cleaning
department. Perhaps people partying and just using it as a handy place
to crash won't notice or mind the filth...but for anyone else, it is
unpleasant and not worth your time or money. This seems to me,
ultimately, a management issue--cleaning is obviously not a priority. |
