Mountain Galleries at the Fairmont
Open 8 AM to 10 PM every day.
In 1991 artist/filmmaker Wendy Wacko opened a small gallery, Jasper
Originals, at the Jasper Park Lodge. After more than a decade of
promoting predominantly Western Canadian artists in Jasper, Wendy
was offered an opportunity to expand. The Gallery at Chateau
Whistler opened its doors to rave reviews in December 2003. The
expansion continued when in August 2004 Banff Springs Fine Art
became the third gallery to open at a Fairmont Hotel. Thus Mountain
Galleries at the Fairmont was born. 4599 Chateau Boulevard

The Path Gallery
is one of Whistler's main resources to see
Northwest Coast Salish and First Nations Native artwork.
Feel free to drop
by and browse the colourful and engaging collection that includes
both miniature and monumental graphic work and jewellery.
The Collection
The collection is drawn primarily from artists living on the Pacific
Northwest Coast. Expect to see traditional objects such as
jewellery, masks, carved panels, paddles and drums, boxes and
contemporary sculpture.
All the items are priced by the artist themselves - not the gallery.
This puts emphasis on the artist who can best represent the value of
the artwork as he/or she sees fit. The Path Gallery feels honoured
that the artists have chosen to be represented among the family of
artists featured in The Path Gallery collection.
About the Gallery
The Path Gallery was opened in 2005 by Britt Germann. Britt has
worked with Northwest Coast Native art in Whistler Village for
almost five years. She has a double major in Fine Art History and
Religious studies from the University of Toronto.
Her knowledge on First Nations artwork and the Coast Salish people
is vast and continuing to grow. Feel free to ask questions and find
out more about this historically important and fascinating subject.
Location
The Path Gallery is only steps away from the 2010 Olympic Centre
next to the Village North Forest.
