Guest Review of the Mountainside Lodge Whistler

We recently stayed at the Mountainside Lodge and had a great experience
there. We had never been to Whistler before and the location was great
for all the things we wanted to do -- mountain biking, hiking, shopping,
ziplining, etc. They had a garage below where we parked and we basically
never moved the car during four days. For skiers, it is just steps from
the main lifts for Whistler.
We had a studio loft suite, with a full kitchen, living room area
downstairs with a gas fireplace and the bedroom was upstairs in the
loft. There was a full bath both downstairs and upstairs, and even a
sauna in the bedroom area. It was very clean, nicely furnished and
really comfortable and cozy. It was also very quiet, but perhaps that
was the time of the year. It just felt like a really comfy place to come
back to after our day's activites, and we even managed to do some
cooking as the kitchen was fully outfitted with pots, pans, dishes, etc.
BTW, the Marketplace IGA turned out to be a very nice grocery store
where we were able to get lots of snacks and food for our stay.
About the only negative I could come up with is that sometimes the loft
could get stuffy during the day. However, there is an air conditioner
that you can run during warmer months, and of course you can turn down
heat. They had a wonderful down comforter on the bed, that keeps you
extra warm.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful in providing suggestions
and assistance. Altogether a very pleasant stay and we found a very
reasonable rate on

Spent 8 nights here at the Mountainside Lodge Hotel Whistler while on a mountain biking vacation, and it was near
perfection. The location is perfect for mountain biking, and I imagine
it would be great for skiing too. The storage in the parkade is really
convenient and secure, and all we had to do was ride literally around
the corner to the lifts. There was an area to wash our bikes at the end
of the day, very important for riders, and saved us from standing in the
huge line ups at the wash station by the lifts. We stayed in a loft
studio; perfect for 2 people with lots of equipment and luggage, and the
sauna was such a treat after cold wet days outside. The kitchen was very
well stocked, and although we only used it for breakfast, we easily
could have prepared a gourmet meal. The only reason that this is not a 5
out of 5 is that the hot tub was under construction while we were there
(will be finished soon though), and that would have been so nice to use,
and the noise from the busy street and from the recycling being picked
up below us was a bit disrupting early in the morning, however it got us
up and about to enjoy the day.

Loved my stay here. Excellent value for summer stay. Had a studio room
with a drop down bed which converted to sofa in daytime. This worked
well and made the room more spacious. Great location in Whistler Village
right in the centre of everything, there was a bit of noise at night but
nothing major at all. Kitchen facilities were excellent - fully kitted
out and there was a DVD and stereo as well. Mountainside Lodge Hotel
Whistler Staff were extremely
friendly and helpful. Arrived early but no problems as room was ready.
Pool and hot tub on site although the hot tub was out of use when I was
there but was pre-warned of this.

We decided to go for a last minute weekend get-away to Whistler and this
hotel was a good deal, so we decided to give it a try. The staff at the
front desk were very friendly from the moment we walked in, and we
enjoyed a friendly chat with them every time we went out into the
village. The room was pretty decent, all little small, but it was nice
to have a full kitchen with full appliances, and the bed was very comfy.
As far as hotels rooms go, this one was pretty modern. The pool was
awesome, it was great that was heated, but I think that the hotel should
consider putting in a bigger hot tub-it was always stuffed to capacity
:) Didn't try the restaurant but it looked popular. The location was the
best part-you step outside and you're right in the village. I'd
recommend Mountainside Lodge Hotel Whistler you get a lot of bang for you buck.

My husband and i stayed in a loft suite with our two sons. The loft was
great with a comfortable queen bed and separate bathroom. We even had a
sauna in our room. Downstairs had a fold out couch and a pull out bed in
a bench in the kitchen area. It was perfect for our boys. The kitchen
was well stocked. There was a bathroom in the downstairs area with a
jacuzzi tub. there was also a fireplace. The lobby was dated but the
rooms were adequately decorated. The location was fantastic. We were
there four days and never moved our car. The price was very reasonable.

After doing some research on places to stay in Whistler we opted for the
Mountainside Lodge as it seemed to be central and cheap – always a
bonus! Well after a fabulous stay I can’t rave about this hotel enough,
from checking in to checking out everything was great. We found the
staff to be lovely and very helpful – they even let us check in a bit
early!
As we were a party of four we had booked a loft suite. The room was very
clean and every detail had been thought of, from kitchen utensils galore
to enough towels to keep you going for a month! And we didn’t find the
décor dated at all – after reading some previous reviews this seemed to
crop up quite a bit! Just be warned though that the bedroom in the loft
is on a mezzanine style floor so there is limited privacy. As we were a
group of friends this wasn’t a problem but if there was two couples
staying there or a family with older children I could see this might be
an issue. During our stay we also tried out the pool and hot tub which
were fab. The pool was a really nice temperature and you could catch a
glimpse of the mountains. We did feel a bit self-conscious getting out
of the pool in front of everyone eating their dinner in the restaurant!
I suppose the only downside we found was that the room got quite warm
and stuffy however this was quickly resolved by sticking the air con on
– although with it on it did sound like the room was going to take off!
