Hotel Review of the Pan Pacific Hotel Whistler Village Centre
Feb 15, 2011
We stayed at the Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre for 3 nights as a long
weekend trip from Seattle. We booked the hotel at the last minute via the
official Whistler page where they had a 72 hour sale on hotels so managed to get
a decent deal at the last minute for such a nice hotel.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the staff. The bellmen were great, they
unloaded our car and even took our ski gear over to our ski locker located at
the Pan Pacific Mountainside. It was very convenient to have the Pan Pacific
provide a ski locker at the Pan Pacific Mountainside hotel so you didn't have to
carry your ski gear every morning to the ski lifts. The locker is located just
steps away from both the Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas. The hotel is in a
great location just a 4 minute walk to the ski lifts and steps away from shops
and restaurants. There is a Starbucks, drug store, movie theater, and grocery
store within minutes of the hotel. There are also plenty of restaurants within
minutes of the hotel. We especially liked the Dubh Linn Gate pub in the PP
Mountainside hotel. Good pub food with fun, lively music!
We stayed in a 1 bedroom on a lower floor. It was an extremely clean,
comfortable, and spacious room with modern decor. It nicely fit a family of four
with our 2 kids sleeping on the hideway bed in the living room. The kitchen was
a little small but nicely stocked and had everything you needed to prepare
meals. The room had a nice fireplace, large windows, and two flat screen TV's.
Overall, the room was incredibly comfortable and cozy. The bathroom was very
spacious with both a shower and tub. After a long day skiing, we enjoyed
spending an evening cozying up by the fireplace and watching a movie. We also
loved the fact that breakfast was included with our room accommodations. It was
a good, standard breakfast buffet. However, considering that meals can be
expensive in Whistler, having the breakfast included was a plus. The kids also
enjoyed the pool and hot tub outside after a long day on the slopes. We also
liked the free WiFi in the room.
The staff at the Pan Pacific were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The
Concierge helped us with arranging ski lessons, restaurant recommendations, and
arranging a babysitter one evening. They did everything with a smile and made
sure we had a lovely visit.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Pan Pacific Whistler Village hotel. Its
probably a bit more spendy than other accommodations in Whistler but the
location, service, and rooms were worth it. It's great for families and in a
fantastic location. Will definitely be back again soon!
Hotel Review of the Pan Pacific Hotel Whistler Village Centre

Just returned from a week at the Pan Pacific Village Centre and this is really
an excellent property. Very central location - much quieter than the PP
Mountainside (which is right next to some of the noisier apres bars) but only 2
minutes from the heart of the village and still with the convenience of being
able to store skis, boots etc. right at the base of the mountain. Our room was
comfortable and spacious, with a small but well equipped kitchen and a nice
seating area with gas fire separate from the bedroom. Bathroom again on the
small side but perfectly adequate with shower and bath and if that doesn't work
for you there's two hot tubs and a pool on site. We appreciated the flexibility
of hotel service with the self catering option provided by the kitchen area.
What really sets this property apart though is the quality of its staff -
nothing was too much trouble, everybody was really friendly and any minor
problems were sorted out in minutes (literally!). Only downside was the strength
of the Canadian dollar vs Sterling - made this a much more expensive holiday
than our last trip to Whistler in 2005. But PP still represents good value.
Highly recommended!

This is our first skiing holiday in Whistler. We had booked a studio suite but
got upgraded to a singe suite mountain view. That was great. All the hotel staff
were very helpful. The view from the room was excellent, overlooking the
mountain. The only little drawback was, it was facing the fire station, you
could hear the siren going on in the middle of the night. But who cares, after a
long day of skiing, sleeping was not a problem.
The kitchen was fully equipped with microwave, stoves, dishwasher, and all
cutlery needed to cook a decent meal.
You also get a ski locker over the Mountainside, we practically ski in and ski
out.
I will definitely return next time.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 12 and 10 had an awesome stay in a 2
bedroom suite on the 6th floor with mountain views. The PP was fantastic, we
loved the outdoor heated spas and pool after a long day skiing. The staff were
friendly and happy to accommodate any requests. Laundry room facilities were
good. The full breakfast in the morning was a perfect start to the day. Skiing
was incredible. Great internet access in room and the full kitchen clean and had
everything you need. Only had room service once, and seemed fairly limited Asian
type cuisine, but still nice. Looking forward to skiing again in Whistler and
would stay here again. Great restaurants Earls and Kegs just outside the front
door.

We stayed here for 1 week from 3 January. Check in speedy and informative, check
in girl VERY friendly and helpful. Room clean, well appointed, good amenities,
good size. Bathroom good size too. We didn't use pool or fitness facilities but
they looked reasonable and lots of people were using them, even though it was
winter! First morning breakfast was good but nothing was labelled which I found
extremely strange, however for the rest of our stay everything was labelled and
kept clean - the difference, the boys were on duty our first day, the very
efficient friendly Aussie girls were on the rest of our stay and kept things
ship shape!! Thanks girls, sorry, didn't get your names! And breakfast was
always yummy and more than adequate and juice boxes were handy to take on the
slopes!
Ate at nochi one night and the food was the worst food we've come across in our
6 weeks of our extended holiday all over the USA! Advise you to stay away from
their restaurant! Other than that, can't fault the hotel or it's friendly staff
in both pan pacific's! Would return without hesitation any time!
