Hotel Review of the Listel Whistler Hotel
19 September 2011
If you need to be on the main strip (connected to the so-called 'village stroll'
in disneyfied Whistler) then this hotel is in the right location. In terms of
hotel facilities and room quality this is no more than average. Rooms are
reasonably equipped but expect plenty of noise from delivery trucks in the
morning if you are in a room at the rear of the hotel, and plenty of noise from
other hotel residents as there's not much sound-proofing. The breakfast is
served buffet style in a very basic canteen style room and is ok. So in summary:
AVERAGE The wifi is irritating as you have to keep re-entering the hotel wep-key.
The hot-tub is in a bizarre location at the back of the hotel. The sauna rooms
are not mixed, you have one in the men's changing room and another in the
ladies. Don't choose rooms at the back of the hotel, you will be woken early
6am-ish by loads of delivery trucks

We arrived here late in the evening from our flight to Vancouver. The woman on
the desk was very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious,
but the noise level from the movement of guests above the room was high - not
inconsiderate guests just poor noise insulation. The air con was very noisy too.

Spent a few days skiing with my son. Outstanding staff. Cheerfully willing to
help in anything we needed. Ditto the restaurant staff. Not always the case at
Whistler.
Location is perfect. Off the noisy main routes buy just one minute walk away
from it all. Very close to lifts. Good price. Only possible drawback is no
kitchen facilities but, to my wife, this is a big plus.
We'll be back.

Service was excellent. A panel on our door jam broke when we opened the door,
and a service technician was sent immediately to fix the problem. On our final
day, after checkout, we were able to ski and then come back and use the
facilities, including showers, hot tub, pool, sauna, etc. as long as we were out
by 16:00 / 4:00pm.
The hotel is in Whistler village, just a short walk to the gondolas and apres
ski activities.

Hotel was better than we expected we were very impressed with all the staff who
were very helpful. There was some confusion with our breakfast vouchers on our
first morning but it was sorted out with no hassle at all. It's in a great
position 5 mins walk from the main gondolas.
