Hotel Review of the Delta Whistler Village Suites

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 12 nights in total and my sister joined us for the first week. We had booked a 1 bed apartment and were offered a 2 bed for a small supplementary charge upon check-in. Glad we did this as it afforded us all a bit more privacy although we had to change back to a 1 bed after the week. However, we just packed up all our gear - went skiing - and it was moved to our new room upon our return - so not too inconvenient after all!
All in all a really decent hotel with good facilities and friendly and helpful staff. Ski bus to lifts was useful although last pick up was 4pm - not so good when you want a bit of apres ski!!! Walk back takes about 10 mins in ski boots.
The hotel gets really busy at weekends with Vancouver-ites coming to ski in Whistler. Although there was no significant noise increase, they do seem to like to bring their dogs with them! There were loads of them and as I'm not a particular dog lover I would be a bit concerned about getting a room after accommodating a dog as they do not appear to have "dog only" rooms. Having said that the cleanliness at all times was excellent. The cleaning lady even noticed it was my Partners birthday and left him a bar of chocolate which we thought was really nice!
Hot tubs and pool really nice after a hard day skiing.
Very handy having the Elephant and Castle Pub on site - especially the 5-6pm deals!
Well equipped kitchens.
Definitely worth a visit!

Travelling with two small children (aged 3 and 5), a husband and brother and sister-in-law to Whistler is never going to be inexpensive. The Delta offered pretty good value for money (on account we got the 3rd night free). If we had to pay the additional nights accommodation my opinion might be very different.

In all, the staff were as helpful as they could be, the rooms were as described and provided adequate facilities and cleanliness. The children and I really enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs with these facilities really making the trip to Delta Suites worth it. The shuttle from the hotel to the gondolas was a life saver as anyone with small children in ski boots and parents carrying extra skis will tell you. The location is really good for short walks to the village for dinner or watching events. The ski storage near the lobby was also useful.

Things to watch out for - your 5 year old ordering pay per views movies with the tv remote at (@$20 a pop) and self parking at $22 plus tax per night unless your car is too big for the underground parking (we have a not so large Honda Pilot) .We had to drive it back to the hotel and then your only option is for Valet Parking (@$26 plus taxes) and an oversize car charge????? I was ever so slightly annoyed at room service knocking on the door at 8.30am one morning to ask if we needed a service - 'not right now still sleeping'.

In all, a decent hotel offering decent rooms and decent service.

We recently rented two neighbouring 2-bedroom suites for our annual ski trip with friends. The hotel was nice and the two outdoor hot tubs + heated outdoor pool were great. The reason I wanted to write a review is for the outstanding and thoughtful customer service we received. I got a mean case of food poisoning from some chili on the hill and spent the better part of two days in bed (among other things). Since I was trapped in bed, my husband informed the housekeeping staff that we wouldn't need cleaning service for one of the days. A couple hours later, one of the hotel room attendants came up with a get well note and a complimentary orange juice and ginger ale. Honestly, it was the sweetest and most thoughtful gesture I have ever had from a hotel staff. We would definitely consider staying here again based on the service alone! (just beware the chili at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler mountain!)

FYI, there is a shuttle from this hotel to the ski lifts, but we decided to walk every day. Was probably a 7-10 minute walk. Doable in ski boots, but certainly not as pleasant a time as our friends in snowboard boots.

We travelled with a party of four and we hired a two bedroom suite. It was great with a full kitchen. The location of it was great as it was about a 5 minute walk to the Whistler chair lift or a free shuttle bus ride. The facilities were great and they had a pub downstairs which was cute. The had a great outdoor pool and a couple of nice spas to relax in after a long day of skiing.
