Hotel Review of the Crystal Lodge Hotel Whistler
18 October 2011
The hotel was right in the center of whistler, so just steps away from all the
action. The room was reasonable, could may be do with a bit of updating I would
say it is more of a 3 star and 3+ or 4. The bathroom was quite basic and had
some cracked tiles around the bath.
The room was quite small compared to all the others we stayed in whilst in
Canada, but this was fine as the bed was comfy. We did have a balcony, didn't
use it because it was too cold out but it was on the corner and so there wasn't
really a view from it unless you stood up. Also it is very overlooked from about
6 other windows, a couple of which are level with it (someone else has posted a
photo of this).
Staff were friendly and helpful, they helped us check into our flight print out
boarding passes when we had problems doing this.

A great night at Crystal Lodge for our wedding anniversary. Nice fresh clean
room (luxury king sized), well appointed and comfortable. The front desk were
super friendly when we arrived and followed up shortly after we checked in to
see if all was OK. A nice note from staff in our room wishing us the best for
the occasion. The pool and hot tub were great to soften up our muscles after a
solid afternoon of mtn biking - Whistler has great trails around Lost Lake even
when bike park is closed (Squamish, just south of Whistler has awesome trails
too!). No review should be without an area for improvement - only one small
thing we could think of - we wished the flat screen TV was set so the frame
wasn't widened for non-HD shows - but everyone looked stretched out and fat -
not a big deal, but FYI. It was a peacful night - and it's all so central to the
core at Whistler village. Thanks so much.

No problems with service, but room was a little on the small side and quite
dark, and parking pretty exorbitant at $22 per night. The layout of Whistler is
completely planned, so there's no on-street parking and there's no real
alternative but to pay it.

Have stayed here 3 times. Twice in December 2009 and in March 2011. For me, The
Crystal Lodge answered a desperate call for help. As a Canadian Athlete trying
to make the 2010 Winter Olympics, The Crystal Lodge stepped up and provided me
with accommodation during crucial training events that I had to attend in
Whistler. Of course my stays were not free, but they were able to meet my
struggling athelte budget during some of the most peak times. The best part was
that not once was I treated like a lesser guest of their hotel. They provided me
with the same courtesies and fabulous customer service that they provide
everyone with.
My thanks goes out to The Crystal Lodge for supporting Canadian Athletes and to
providing wonderful and peaceful accommodation during an extremely stressful
time!

Our experience at the Crystal Lodge was outstanding. The staff was truly
remarkable. The loft suite was beautiful and cozy. We were pleased it was
surprisingly quiet, being in the center of it all. Grocery store was very close,
parking excellent. Definitely recommend this to anyone travelling to Whistler.
LOVED the fact it had a balcony!!
